Giving the world’s 2.5 billion “unbanked” people access to
financial services such as savings accounts, loans, credit, and
insurance could not only help them survive hard times and emerge from
poverty, but boost entrepreneurship and economic growth, panelists said
at a World Bank Live event, Closing the Gap with Financial Inclusion, on the eve of the World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings.
